# Shuaa Renderer - Privacy Policy (Beta) **Effective 10 October 2026** *Document revision: 10 October 2026. Legal documents are identified by date, not by Shuaa version number.* This policy explains what data Hassen Guennari ("we") receives about you during the Pre-Release of Shuaa Renderer, why, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It covers the Shuaa Renderer Pre-Release builds, the Beta included (the "Software"), https://renderway.com and our support email. **Data controller:** Hassen Guennari - shuaa-renderer@renderway.com --- ## 1. Summary - **The Software makes one connection on its own: it asks https://renderway.com for today's date** (Section 3). Like any web request it reaches the server's log with your IP address; it carries nothing about you or your work. Otherwise it sends nothing on its own: no telemetry, no analytics, no licence activation, no tracking. - Everything else reaches us **only when you choose to send it**: a download, a problem report, an email, or a visit to our website. - **We never sell your data.** | What we receive | When | Why | |---|---|---| | Website server logs of the date check: IP address, time, and the Software's name and version | Cinema 4D starts with the Software, and when you render if the last check is more than an hour old | To apply the Beta's end date (Section 3) | | Beta download records: IP address, the country it belongs to, the time, which file (Cinema 4D 2024 or 2026), whether the whole file was sent, and the site or link that brought you | You download the Beta from our website | To count downloads, protect the download from abuse, and know where Shuaa is used (Section 7) | | Visit counts of our pages: the page, the day, the country, the site or link that brought you; **no IP address is stored** | You open a page of our website | To know which pages and links bring visitors (Section 7) | | Your email address and what you write in the report form | You send us a report | To answer you and fix the problem | | The report's technical contents (Section 2) | You send us a report | To reproduce and fix the problem | | Your scene file | Only if you tick "Include the scene file" and send the report | To reproduce the problem | | Your messages and their attachments | You email us | To answer you | | Your email address, for the newsletter | You sign up on our website and confirm it | To email you news about Shuaa Renderer | | Pre-Beta download records: the download password's number, the build, the time, whether the whole file was sent | You downloaded the Pre-Beta with your one-time download password | So that each download password worked only once | | Website server logs and visit statistics: IP address, time, page or file requested, browser and system, the referring page | You visit or download from https://renderway.com, or send a report | To run and protect the website, and to count visits | --- ## 2. What a problem report contains The Software saves a report on your computer as a zip file. **Nothing is sent unless you press Send Report** in the report form: it uploads the zip to our server at https://renderway.com over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Save Only keeps the zip on your computer for you to send yourself. To limit abuse, our server counts the reports each address sends under a code made from the address that changes every day, and deletes the count after two days. Before it saves, the report form lists what the zip will hold. A report contains: - the report form: its title, category, steps, description and your email address; - facts about your computer: the Shuaa and Cinema 4D versions, the Windows version, the processor, the memory, the graphics card and its driver, and counts about the open scene (objects, polygons); - the Live Viewer's current pictures; - the Shuaa log of the current session and, after a crash, of the previous session. A log records what the Software did and can contain file paths (which may include your Windows user name) and the names of objects, materials and textures in your scene; - **the scene file, only if you ticked "Include the scene file".** It is unticked by default. Send Report does not upload a scene larger than 200 MB; it stays on your computer, and the Software says where. With Save Only, you can open the zip and remove anything from it before you send it. On our server, a report is listed on a private, password-protected page that only we can open, with the notes we write while we work on it (for example "fixed in build 0.9.2"). --- ## 3. The date check The Beta may be used until 31 January 2027 (the Licence Agreement, Section 4). To apply that date, the Software asks https://renderway.com/shuaa/time.php for the website's current date and time when Cinema 4D starts, and again when you render if its last answer is more than an hour old. - The request is a plain web request. It carries the Software's name and version and nothing else: no account, no identifier, nothing about your computer, your scenes or your work. - Like every visit to our website, it reaches the website's server log with your IP address and the time (kept 12 months, Section 4). - The Software also keeps one small file on your computer, in Cinema 4D's preferences folder: the latest date it has seen. It holds only that date, and it never leaves your computer. - If the website cannot be reached, nothing is sent and the Software uses your computer's clock. --- ## 4. How long we keep it | Data | Kept | |---|---| | **Scene files** | Used only to reproduce the problem you reported, never shared, and **deleted once that problem is fixed, and never later than 90 days after we receive them.** Ask us and we delete one sooner. | | Reports, logs and pictures | Until the problem is closed, and never longer than 12 months. On the web server, a report is deleted 90 days after it arrives; its email address and form text leave our private report list with it, and only its reference, category, versions and our notes stay. | | Beta download records | The IP address 12 months, then it is deleted; the rest (the day, the country, the file, the site or link) stays as a count, no longer tied to anyone | | Visit counts | As counts (no IP address is stored) | | Newsletter: your email address | Until you unsubscribe (a link in every email) | | Emails | 24 months after the conversation ends; reports and scene files attached to them are deleted as the rows above say | | Website server logs and visit statistics (they include IP addresses), the date check's included | 12 months | | Pre-Beta download records (download password number, build, time, whether the file was sent in full), and our list of which tester received which download password | Until the Pre-Beta ends, then deleted (by 31 January 2027) | If we would like to keep one of your scenes longer, for example to test future versions, we will ask you first, and keep it only with your agreement. --- ## 5. Legal basis (EU and UK) - Reports, scene files and emails you send us: your consent -- you choose to send them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. - Beta download records and visit counts: our legitimate interest in counting downloads and visits, protecting the download from abuse, and knowing which countries and which links bring people to Shuaa Renderer. - Website server logs and visit statistics: our legitimate interest in operating, securing and understanding the use of the website. - The newsletter: your consent, given when you confirm your address; you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. - Pre-Beta download records and the list of who received which download password: our legitimate interest in letting each one-time download password download once. - The date check: our legitimate interest in applying the Beta's end date, a term of the licence you accept (the Licence Agreement, Section 4). --- ## 6. Who we share it with | Recipient | Purpose | |---|---| | Atlax (atlax.com), Tunis, Tunisia | Website hosting, its database and its visit statistics, email, the download records and the problem reports you send with Send Report | | Google (Gmail) | Emails to shuaa-renderer@renderway.com are forwarded to our Gmail mailbox | | Kit (kit.com), USA | Runs our newsletter: keeps the subscribers' email addresses and sends the emails | | AI assistants run by other companies | To help us read a problem report's logs and technical contents when we look for the cause of a problem | These providers process data only for the purposes above. We share data with no one else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights against fraud or abuse. --- ## 7. Website We do not use advertising or tracking on https://renderway.com, and its public pages set no cookies. Its fonts and images come from our own server. To count visits we use the statistics our web host builds from its server logs (AWStats, Webalizer, Analog): pages, downloads, browsers, countries and visitors' IP addresses. They stay on our host's server, only we can see them, and they are kept 12 months. Our pages also count their own visits: when a page opens, it tells our server the page, the site that sent you there (its name only, for example reddit.com) and the tag of the link you followed, if any. Our server adds the country and the day. No IP address is stored with a visit; to tell a second visit on the same day from a new visitor, the server uses a code made from the address that changes every day. **Downloads.** The Beta is downloaded from https://renderway.com/shuaa/download after you accept the Licence Agreement. For each download our server records the IP address, the time, which file, whether the whole file was sent, and the site or link that brought you. The country is looked up from the IP address in a list kept on our own server (IP to Country Lite by DB-IP, https://db-ip.com, licensed CC BY 4.0); the address is not sent to anyone for that. These records are shown only on a private, password-protected page of our website that only we can open. The Shuaa sneak-peek video is hosted on YouTube. It loads only when you press play, in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); from then, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to it. The newsletter sign-up form sends the address you type to Kit, which runs our newsletter. After you press the button you are on Kit's pages until you come back to ours, and Kit's privacy policy applies there. --- ## 8. International transfers We operate from Tunisia, and our website and email are hosted by Atlax in Tunisia, so data you send us is processed there. The EU and the UK have not recognised Tunisia as offering an adequate level of data protection; we protect your data as this policy describes. Emails forwarded to Gmail, and reports we read with an AI assistant, may also be processed by those companies in the EU or the US, under their own safeguards. Kit keeps the newsletter's subscribers in the United States, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses. --- ## 9. Your rights If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to: - **Access** - get a copy of your data - **Rectification** - correct inaccurate data - **Erasure** - have your data deleted, including any report or scene you sent us - **Restriction** - limit how we process it - **Portability** - receive it in a machine-readable format - **Object** - object to processing based on legitimate interest - **Withdraw consent** - at any time Email shuaa-renderer@renderway.com to exercise any of these; we answer within **30 days**. You may also complain to your national data protection authority. We honour the same requests from anyone, wherever they live. --- ## 10. Security Reports, scenes and emails are kept in our mailboxes (Atlax and Gmail), on our web server (Atlax) and on our own computers, and only we can access them. The download records and our report list sit in a database on the same web server, behind a password only we hold. On the web server, a report is deleted 90 days after it arrives at the latest. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires. --- ## 11. Children The Software and the website are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. --- ## 12. Changes We may update this policy. A newer build carries the policy that applies to it, and changes are announced on https://renderway.com/shuaa. Previous versions are archived at https://renderway.com/shuaa/legal/archive. --- **Contact:** shuaa-renderer@renderway.com - Hassen Guennari
